Why We Exist
GenZ Nepal Canada was founded on September 8, 2025, to honor the memory of 19 brave young Nepalese who lost their lives while peacefully protesting for democracy, transparency, and digital rights. We are their voice in Canada, ensuring their sacrifice was not in vain.
On that tragic day, thousands of Nepal's youth took to the streets demanding basic democratic rights - the right to free speech, transparent government, and digital freedom. They were met with violence, tear gas, and live ammunition. Nineteen young people paid the ultimate price for their belief in democracy.
As Canadians who cherish the democratic values these heroes died for, we cannot stand silent. GenZ Nepal Canada exists to amplify their voices, support their cause, and ensure the international community does not forget their sacrifice.
